yes everyone, it's true.
i didn't want to say anything until i confirmed that it was true. I was filmed yesterday by a French (yes i know and will get to that later) independant film company about my online life.
Akiko and i were shoppin for clothes a month or 2 ago in SL and someone contacted me in game askin since i was in Philly, if i was interested in being in a movie. at first i though they meant an SL "in game" movie, but later on i realized they meant a RL movie, a documentary about people and thier characters in The Sims online and Second Life. I thought about it for a week and eventually decided that it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that i could not pass up.
So they explained that they were goin to be in Bethlehem PA and would swing down to Philly to interview me. I was extremely nervous about the whole thing and did not really talk about it so i could get it out of my head. See, it's not like if i was goin to meet any of you guys, people that i have known for years, but people i met in game once. But i met them and they were very cool, 2 French guys and a petit Japanese woman.
They decided on us all having lunch first and discussing what they wanted to talk about, and what Jirimar's history and character was all about. They loved the idea of him being the same character crossing over to different games, of course mentioned my online family RoJ and they asked me for names so i threw out a bunch of you guys, old and new, but who knows how many they will keep in the film. They were astounded that we are goin on our 10 year anniversary and were very impressed that we have all remained in touch and play together for as long as we have. They were interesed in hearing about in game marriages as this was a new concept to them, so i told them about Jiri and Usagi's wedding, and an SL wedding i went to for a really good friend of mine.
They also asked about other things about what i think of online gaming and SL and stuff, but no need to get into all of that, plus i don't remember half of what i said, hehe. And i apologize whole heartedly if i left anyones name out, it was only due to being nervous. Had alot of brain farts and i may have stuttered 3 or 4 times. One very special person who's name i did not mention was Madam, so i'll apologize now, sorry baby!!
They said they should be done editing and everthing else and i should receive a copy of the DVD in the mail around December.
Of course i will find a way for you guys to see it, hopefully it will be on the net somewhere as more than likely it will be shown in European film festivals and stuff. Worst case i will capture my interview and post it.
Congrats guys, hopefully if they edit it, the world will know about RoJ.
the only bad thing is....................I'll feel guilty if i say another bad word about France
